The Health Insurance Help Center is a traveling health insurance kiosk serving the New Jersey area.
Health insurance can be a very complicated issue for some people. Loss of health insurance for losing a job, divorce, moving, nursing home, traveling, loss of credible coverage, incarceration, college, self employment, and more, are some of the problems faced by people needing health insurance. On top of that, for NJ residents, there is a tax called a shared responsibility payment that must be paid to the state for not having health insurance. That shared responsibility payment is the equivalent the cost of a Bronze Level plan sold on the marketplace. For Medicare, there is a lifetime enrollment penalty for not signing up for Medicare at the appropriate time. This is for Part B and/or for Part D. The help center works to help the consumer navigate this system to avoid additional costs like these.
